Codes of Practice and Guidance
The Gambling Commissioner may, with the consent of the Minister, makes rules and may issue guidance and codes of practices consisting of such information and advice as is considered appropriate.
Arrangements for consulting licence holders prior to issuing guidance or codes of practice can be found here.
The Codes of Practice issued under the previous Gambling Act remain in force until such time as new Codes have been issued by the Gambling Commissioner. These will be consulted on in accordance with the arrangements included above.
The Generic Code
The code of practice titled ‘The Generic Code’ is intended to be ‘interpretive guidance’ to the Gibraltar gambling industry in respect of the provisions of the Act, and outline, for development, a fair and transparent regulatory framework within which licensees will be required to operate.
The Remote Technical and Operating Standards (RTOS)
The RTOS is intended to provide further guidance to the Gibraltar gambling industry in respect of the provisions of the Act, and elaborate on the requirements of the regulatory framework within which Licence Holders will be required to operate.
